Some info on the band…
Merlock started out as a trio almost 2 years ago and they were then known as LEECH, with Tharindu Jayasingha on Drums, Sajith Ranasingha on Guitar and Dumidu Handakumbura on bass guitar and vocals. they played their first gig 4 months into the original formation. The performance included two covers and a original. After this gig the band went through many changes with the addition of a 4th member (Niroshan) to the band and the bands genre changing from nu-metal to Power Metal. The Bands name was also changed from LEECH to MERLOCK. Merlocks music is mainly inspired by international bands such as Nevermore, Iced earth, Nightwish, Pantera and more hardcore bands such as Lamb of God, Children of Bodom and Kalmah.
                                    Merlock has performed at many concerts. Their first big break came in January 2006 with being invited to play for a rock concert organized by the interact club of S. thomas’ college Mt. Lavenia. The concert was held at the Bishops College Auditorium it was a runaway success for both the band and for the organizers. With this performance they were invited to play for many concerts organized by S. Thomas college and many other schools and organizations. Some of our notable performance are “Unplugged at Gall Face Hotel”, “A night of Eternal Metal” and “The gathering” organized by "The Metal Realm".
